Looking for something beyond search as we know it. Look to Wolfram/Alpha. The search engine looks to compute answers to questions based on known facts. For example if you type in your birth date you get difference from today, sunrise and sunset, duration of daylight and moon. When I types in my city, Seattle, Wolfram/Alpha gave city population, metro area population, time, weather, elevation, and closest city. Enter in any math formula the search engine will give the answer. Very cool concept, check site out at wolframalpha.com.
Here is my new 5 second “Please subscribe to my videos” that will be featured after each of my YouTube videos. If you haven’t already please subscribe to my YouTube video channel http://www.youtube.com/user/9malls
Take a look at my stock potfolio today. My portfolio is up 125.66% since March. I took a large position in CAT, Caterpillar, a couple hours after hearing the news “Demand for their excavators in China was at an all-time high.” Also, after hearing news all last week that swine flu might be less deadly than once expected I bought some HRL, Hormel Foods.
The average yearly death rate for just your run of the mill flu is 63,729 per year. That’s 5,310 per month, 1,225 per week, 174 per day. This is just in the United States. Don’t you think if the news media reported every death from just your average flu people might panic as they have with Swine Flu? How many deaths have resulted from the Swine Flu so far… 149 in Mexico. To back my theory that this is mostly hype check out the screen shot of Google Flu Tracker. The activity for flu in the United States says “Low.”

High taxes at least in Washington didn’t save the state for the downturn in the economy. During the 2008 election Gov. Chris Gregoire stated that there is no deficit in Washington State. In 2009 the state is currently dealing with a $9 billion deficit.
My stock portfolio that I put together a few weeks ago continues to rise. Lesson learned… It’s not hard to make money in an oversold market. Lets hope markets continue their rise.
As the economic mess continues I like how advertisers are changing the way they market to you from upbeat to now letting you know they feel your pain.
Ameritrade
Does the actor in this photo look worried?
AmeripriseTV Ad
Or Ameriprise baby boomer targeted ads where Dennis Hopper asks , “Did you really think the road to retirement was going to be easy?.” Baby boomers everywhere replying no, but I didn’t think my retirement would lose over half its value.
Compare that to the stock market boom 1999 commercials.
Just finished watching a video on slowing down in a world built for speed. Everyone feels it… we feel stressed and busy ALL the time. Understand why we feel this, watch the video. One of the quotes by Carrie Fisher, “Even these days instant gratification takes too long.”
I totally can relate to this. I’m actually thinking about getting rid of my smart phone and downgrading to a standard “dial only” cell phone. Blackberry’s and other smart phones, excuse the language, make you their bitch. How many applications do we really need on our cell phones? Do I really need to have a phone where I can check my e-mail, surf the internet, and map out directions at all times? Yes, it’s convenient, but work shouldn’t have to follow you everywhere. There should be some places and some times just for yourself uninterrupted by the Blackberry blinking red light.
I put some money in the stock market yesterday and it paid off big today! I bet big on some highly speculative stocks. I was betting we’ve seen the worst in financials, I was right (At least today).. GE was up 12.72% and Genworth Financial was up 12.00% today. I also put money in Ford a company described as “too big to fail” Ford was up 7.14% today. If I were you I’d take $100, $200, or $2000 and put some money to work in the stock market. It’s worth the risk at this point.
Wow! I always used to think these kinds of things would only happen to my grandparents. I used to think it was funny that they saved virtually everything. I wonder if this generation will turn into a penny pinching and hording society.
