It started about 10 years ago, sitting on the back patio, wondering how to reduce my $1700.00 power bill for my commercial building. This was shortly after the economy collapsed in 2008. It did not all come to me at once, slowly in one piece after another. Now it is all together and I CANNOT BELIEVE I INVENTED THIS, especially at a time when the world is screaming for a solution to global warming. To finish the project the final engineering has to be done, along with a CFD (computer fluid dynamics) analysis. When optimized by CFD, the production ready files need to be done to build the life size prototype for real life testing. To say “I AM STOKED” is an understatement.”

Mighty Watts Increases Wind Speed?

Yes, it happens by forcing the wind through a smaller area. Just like when a wide river hits a narrow area and forms rapids. It’s the same with wind. And scientists know that velocity works to the power of 3, so doubling the speed creates 2 x 2 x 2 of energy. 8 TIMES AS MUCH.

Not to keep knocking current wind turbines, which are doing a great job, but they are reliant on compressing westerly winds blowing through mountains and valleys. But here’s the thing – Mighty Watts can increase the velocity of wind coming from ANY DIRECTION.

Leverage Outer Parameters?

Mighty Watts forces the wind to pass through a smaller turbine blade access area on the outer edges. This is achieved with a cone in the middle of the front surface area, guiding the wind away from the center , to where it gets the maximum leverage to the axis point.

Venturi?

The Venturi takes the outside wind travelling at its normal speed, forcing it through a smaller area where it speeds the wind up behind the blades, eliminating the resistance to the incoming wind.

Ireland researchers have reported that they discovered a “new form” of light, and say that their discovery “will impact our understanding of the fundamental nature of light.” The discovery was published in the scientific journal “Science Advances.”

“What I think is so exciting about this result is that even this fundamental property of light, that physicists have always thought was fixed, can be changed.”

Eastham suggested that the discovery could have implications for telecommunications and privacy.

Turmeric: The Healthy Wonder Spice

In an article by world-renowned holistic doctor, Andrew Weil, MD, entitled, 3 Reasons to Eat Turmeric, under the heading, What is Turmeric? He states:

“Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a culinary spice that spans cultures – it is a major ingredient in Indian curries, and makes American mustard yellow. But evidence is accumulating that this brightly colored relative of ginger is a promising disease-preventive agent as well, probably due largely to its anti-inflammatory action.”

The article goes on to state that, “…turmeric appears to outperform many pharmaceuticals in its effects against several chronic, debilitating diseases, and does so with virtually no adverse side effects.”

The Turmeric Extract Curcumin Found to Reduce Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression in a Recent Study Out of Australia

A randomized, double-blind study of the benefits of turmeric/curcumin as it applies to anxiety and depression recently backed up the results of former studies that showed the effectiveness of the turmeric extract in functioning as an anxiolytic. Dr. Adrian Lopressor, who headed up the research study at Murdoch University in Australia, said:

“Curcumin’s positive antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects are likely due to its ability to normalize specific physiological pathways. It appears to elevate neurotransmitters such as serotonin, while lowering stress hormones, such as cortisol, and is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Curcumin also provides protection to the brain.”

Speaking of protecting the brain, it seems that multiple studies have shown that the turmeric/curcumin extract is almost a wonder spice/herb. Of its many amazing benefits, the following are sited:

New Study Shows Heart Disease Linked To Carbs Not Fat

New study shows that heart disease is linked to carbohydrates and not fat. The new study shows that increasing saturated fat 2x does not increase saturated fat in the blood. The study found the opposite, the intake of carbs were connected to fatty acid linked to heart disease and type-2 diabetes. The results could lead to a tidal shift in dietary advice where fats were a much bigger enemy than carbs. The study followed 16 middle-aged, obese adults for 21 weeks.

“The unintended consequence of telling everyone to restrict fat was that people ate an even greater amount of carbohydrates,” said Jeff Volek, senior author on the new study and a professor of human sciences at The Ohio State University. “This is a fact. It’s not a stretch to make the connection between overconsumption of carbs and the obesity and diabetes epidemic.”

Before going completely crazy adding saturated fats to your diet keep in mind that the study was funded by a grant from the Dairy Research Institute, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the Egg Nutrition Center, and the Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Foundation. The researchers reported that the funders had no role in the study design or decision to publish the research.

If anything this study gives you something to think about especially since the current wisdom of low fat diets have done nothing to decrease the rise of obesity in the United States.

Harvard Scientists Discover Meditation’s Profound Benefits

Harvard Scientists have discovered something that was almost a certainty by many of us that practice meditation on a regular basis. Meditation can fight extreme stress levels. Meditation is so powerful that Harvard Scientists discovered that meditation can change the physiology of one’s brain resulting in less anxiety and depression. With these kinds of results instead of doctors first proscribing anti-depressants (1 in 10 Americans) send the patient to a meditation retreat.

The Harvard Study: 

– 24 participants were to practice “mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR)” or meditation for 8 weeks. It’s funny scientists can’t even call it what it is, meditation.

– 2 1/2 hours each week practicing “body scanning, sitting meditation, walking meditation and mindful stretching movements.”

– MRIs performed before and after the 8 week course.

– Each participant answered a survey about their stress and anxiety levels before and after the course.

– The control group practiced no meditation during the 8 weeks.

Results: 

The comparison demonstrated “an increase of cortical thickness in the right insular lobe and somatosensory cortex” of the meditation group. The part of the brain that controls emotion and perception was thicker after meditation. There was “a significant after-training reduction of several psychological indices related to worry, state anxiety, depression and alexithymia.”

The keyword is significant. With these kinds of results which people who practice meditation have known for centuries everyone should meditate. There is no excuse now not to meditate. It’s just as important to your overall health as physical exercise.

To correctly practice box breathing, you must breathe from your lower belly and not from your upper chest.
