Have you visited Live.com lately? No? Yeah, you’re just like everybody else since Google owns about 60% of US searches. I noticed that around the Beijing Olympics Live.com now features a new searchable photo everyday on the homepage. I really like the artistic photographs that you can click on and search. For example, in the Live.com photo I feature in this CashSherpa.com article one can click on the women in the blue fleece jacket and boom! you’re now at Microsoft’s Live product search engine. Live.com also lets you type and search like a normal search engine within the photo via the query box. In a way it’s virtual interactive art. Let’s see if this has any effect of Microsoft’s Live search engine market share, but put me on record I think that it will. This is a subtle yet groundbreaking design idea coming out of Microsoft. Check out the new Live.com.
